How to Use the Password Reset Disk 1) At the Windows logon screen, youll get the 'Reset Password' option when you enter an incorrect password, or if you just want to change the password, do as I did and type 1 in the password box and hit enter, then select 'Reset Password'. If you’re using Windows 10, version 1803 you can add security questions to your local account in case you forget your password, so you don't need to create a password reset disk. Then, if you forget your password, you can reset it. If you use a local account in Window 10, you should create a password reset disk using a USB flash drive as soon as possible.
